MAGISTRATE'S COURT

Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., presided at the Magistrate's Court to-day. Making his fifth appearance 'for drunkenness, Timothy Delaney was sentenced -to fourteen days' imprisonment. Henry Greenfield, with two previous convictions, was fined £1, in default three days' imprisonment, and John Johnston, with one .previous conviction, was ordered to forfeit the amoitot of his bail, £1.

On charges of drunkenness and assaulting Sydney Samuel ■ Woolf, Lawrence Anderson was' remanded until Monday, bail being fixed at £5. A young man named Gordon James Mullins, charged, with forging the name of C. S. Barclay to a cheque for £16 10s, and uttering it to Walter Thomas Good, was remanded to appear at Hawera on 30th inst., bail being fixed at £150. The accused was arrested by Detectives M'Lennan and Jarrold.

Ernest Henry Mackay, charged that, being the father of an unborn illegitimate child, he did attempt to leave New Zealand, was remanded to appear on Monday, bail being fixed at £200..

At Mount Cook Police Court to-day, one first offender or drunkenness -was convicted and discharged. Mr. W. A. Worth,. J.P., was on.the Bench.
