NEW YORK, 9th May.

At Kerens, Texas, thirteen men were burned to death by an explosion at a newly-sunk oil well, which a worker attempted to close when the oil began to gush. Friction ignited the gas and oil, resulting in a vast pillar of flame a hundred feet high. > Attempts to extinguish the flame were unsuccessful.

The casualties in the oil fire have risen to sixteen, who are known to he dead, while twenty are missing.
