TROOPS WITHDRAWN
CHINA AND HER BANDITS,

It is reported that Government "troops withdrew temporarily from the pursuit of the bandits, because the latter threatened to kill their prisoners,and methods are being considered to secure the release of the captives. (Received 11th. May, 1.30 p.m.) j / PEKIN, 10th May. I The latest advices indicate that Major Pinter Allen hat! not been released, though hia two aons were. The latter report tha£ all the captives are well.
