BRITANNIA THEATRE.
One of the strrj|igest and most delightful pictures in which Thomas Meighan, the well-known Paramount star, has been seen this season is "Cappy Ricks," which is now showing at the Britannia Theatre. Mr. Meighan is seen as a seaman in the story which is colourful, dramatic, and at times quite thrilling. It is a picturisation of Peter B. Kyne's stories of the same title. The story takes one to the South Seas, and every Bcene following the "murder of a captain, the thrashing of a burly Swede, and the ship's mate's triumphant return homei to his girl, is filled with genuine drama. The action is rapid and the love appeal most charming. Agnes Ayres has the leading feminine role, while Charles Abbe gives an artistic portrayal of Cappy. "The Jilt," an exceptionally fine society drama, featuring Ralph Graves, is the supporting attraction.
