OHRISTCHUECH, 10th May. . In the Supreme Court today, Cyril Eugene Walden and Norman Wilson came up for sentence for theft from an hotel. Walden was sentenced to two yeavB 1 imprisonment, and "Wilton to three years. Walden, who had pleaded guilty in the Magistrate's Court to another charge, was sentenced to one year* imprisonment, to bs concurrent with hi* other sentence.

John Stack, barman, at the Grotvenor. who was found guilty of causing actual bodily harm, was fined £10, the Judge saying that there was no doub* prisoner had* had provocation. Hie Honour ordered that George Evans, who had been found guilty of fraud by means of valueless cheques, be declared an habitual criminal again, and serve three years' hard labour. Joseph Solomon, aged 17, for forgery, was sentenced to three year*' reformativo treatment.

Stanley Taylor, for forgery, was given «ix months' imprisonment. Robert M'Laughlan, for theft, was sentenced to imprisonment for three years, and declared an habitual criminal.
