CONFERENCE OPENS ON WEDNES-

■ •The conference of --representatives ■ of employers and workers called to discuss the proposed Apprentices Bill, will open at; the head office of the Labour DepartUnent, Ghuznee street, at 10 a.m., on Wednesday. There' will be five representatives of the Employers' Federation .alid Industrial Corporation on one side, .and five'delegates from workers' organisations j-on the other. It is expected that the Minister of La.febur (Hon. G. J. Anderson) will be pre•'sent at the conference, which will consider the general question of improving ■the position of apprentices in New Zealand with a view of bringing the condiitior.3 governing their employment into lino Tith modern practice.
