DRIVEN ASHORE BY A GALE

While she was at anchor in the roadstead off Kaingaroa:, Chatham Islands, last Friday night, the steamer Rama, which arrived at Wellington at 2.30 o'clock this afternoon from the Chathams, dragged her moorings and was driven ashore by a. gale. The steamer remained on the rocks for about four hours. She was ultimately refloated. No damage to the vessel's hull is reported.
