FIVE YEARS' DETENTION.

In the Supreme Court, three young burglars, John Younger, aged 17 years, Clifford Henry Holden, 19, and John O'Connell, appeared for sentence for burglaries and safe-breaking committed while armed. The Judge strongly commented on the increase in such crimes, and refusing a plea for probation, imposed five years reformative detention on the elder youths and three years on the younger;
