DELHI, 10th April.
• The heavy plague mortality in :Delbj has caused a panic in the city. The inhabitants are fleeing to the neighbouring villages, and the streets are almost deserted. There are between sixty and a hundred deaths daily.
The Health Officer has advised the closing of all schools and colleges. There were over 1500 deaths in March alone, and over 3000 since Ist January. Fresh, cases are being hourly reported: The authorities hope that the heat of. May will kill the epidemic. Madras also, reports that the epidemic is increasing; There were 800 fresh c^ses and 600 deaths last week..
