A KIPLING TRANSLATION.
A translation of .one of Kudyard Kipling's short stories has been found among the manuscrips left by Louig Hemon, the author of "Marie Chapdelaine," and under the title of "Dans l'Orgeuil de son Age" the story wag at first attributed to the French writer.' Hemon had: an immense admiration for Kipilng's style, and had studied it closely, and 20 years ago he translated more than one of his stories. He died without setting his papers in'order, and there was nothing to lead his family to think the story in question was other than a work of his own. Fragments of it were given in a magazine, and were at once recognised by many readers as being pieces of a translation of one of the great English writer's works, in which Hemon had taken infinite pains to convey as closely as possible the style of the original.
