SEASON OPENS TO-MORROW.
A real start will be made to-mon'ow with the opening of the Rugby' football season, and the matches to be played will be in the nature of club benefits. Two strong attractions will be provided at the Athletic Park in the matches, Poneke v. Athletic and Marist v. Berhampore. At Petone, Pet me will meet Oriental. Under a scheme devised for the sale of tickets, the proceeds will be distributed for the benefit of clubs and their gymnasium funds. Apart from the worthy object of assisting the clubs, the games themselves will he worth seeing, as they will give a good idea of th« probable season's strength of the teams engaged. It is expected that a record number of spectators will be present at the Athletic Park, as over 600 tickets have, been disposed of up to the present, and the highest previous gathering a l, the Park on an opening day wag 4500. The tickets on sale are available either for use at the Athletic Park or Petone Eecreation Ground.
