LADIES' HOCKEY

ASSOCIATION'S ANNUAL MEETING

The meeting of the Wellington Ladies Hockey Association was held last evening, Mr. E. C. Griffin presiding. A satisfactory credit "balance was shown in the annual report and balancesheet, which were adopted. The Karon and Eastbourne Clubs were granted affiliation to the Wellington Centre. The former club is to wear a half black and half white costume, while green and yellow are to be Eastbourne's colours. It was suggested by a member that the successful team in the junior grade should, the following year, graduate to senior. Mr. A. J. Cathie, representing the Referees'. Association, pointed out that quite a number of girls showed a Added lack of knowledge of the rules of the game. ,The fact of a team winning the junior championship was no guarantee that it would do the same in the senior grade. No action y/as taken in the matter.

Provision is to be made for a delegate from the Eeferees' Association to take, a seat on the Management Committee. The election of officers resulted:—President, Mr. E. C. Griffin; vice-presidents, Miss M. M'Lean and Messrs. R. A. Wright, M.P., P. Blundell, M. Mather, T. R. Cresswell, R. J. Lloyd, and B. Manning; secretary, Miss E. Gell; treasurer, Miss A. Hogg'; management committee, Misses Wilkins, Torston, Cunningham, Hyland, arid Lowe; selector, Mr. E. C. Griffin; vice-president to N.Z.L.H.A., Mr. R. J. Lloyd; delegate to N.Z.L.H.A., Miss M. Wilkins.
