WILL OF THE PEOPLE
SHIFTY AS THE SANDS
FASCISM IS ANTI-LIBERAL
DECLARES MUSSOLINI.
(USITIB »R«SS ASSOCIATION.—COMRIMT.) (ACSTRALIAN - NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received 4th April, 10 a.m.) ROME, 3rd April. Signor Mussolini, in a remarkable article in the new pajier "Gerarchia," says that he has no use for Liberalism. "Russia and Italy have shown that one can govern without it. Liberalism means that a few men overrule all the others, allowing freodom of action to those avowedly hostile to the State. History has no example of a Government exclusively based on the will of the people and renouncing the use of force. The will of the people is as shifty as the sands of the seaehore. "The truth is that men are tired of liberty. Liberty is no longer the chaste and severe virgin for whom the . first half of the Nineteenth Century fought. Fascism has no qualms in declaring itself anti-Liberal, and will trample underfoot the decomposed corpse of Liberty."
