"LONELIEST ON EARTH"
MAN WITH £2000 A YEAR LEAVES NO HEIR. (UNITBD PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPYRIBBT.) (AHSTRALIAN-NEW ZEALAND CAII.E ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, 7th March. The Coroner at Westminster described Henry House, a retired Indian Civil servant, who died suddenly in a London hotel, as "possibly, the loneliest man on the face of the earth." He had an income of over J32CCO a year, yet he was homeless, friendless. , and without relatives. He wandered from hotel to hotel, Jiving frugally on 12s a day. The Coroner regretted that relatives could not be foundj as £2000 a year was going begging.
