WELLINGTON CENTRE
COLOUR GAMES ABANDONED.
The Wellington Bowling Centre, at its meeting last night, decided that he Red, White, and Blue competitions be abandoned for this season. Mr. F. Meadowcroft presided over the meeting. Mr. S. Potter moved that the clubs at present heading the list in the thre,e divisions be adjudged the winners. Mr. A. Coles moved, as an amendment, and Mr. M. J. Hodgins seconded, that the competition be abandoned altogether this season. Mr. R. Reed considered that the centre had no power to declare the games off without first of ali referring the matter to the clubs. His own club (Seatoun) had a chance of winning one section, and it was not fair to deny it the right of winning. Mr. Potter said that some clubs were in such a position that they could not lose their sections. Rather than nave the competition abandoned, these clubs should be declared the winners. Mr. J. S. Keith did not think it fair to stop the competition at an uncompleted stage. Unless the competition cou d be fought right out it ought to be declared off. Clubs were not responsible for bad weather.
