EMPIRE EXHIBITION
NOT TO BE ABANDONED.
(Received 28th February, 9 a.m.)
LONDON, 27th February
Mr. C. W. Darbishire (L.). Westbury, inquired in the House of Commons whether Sir William Joynson Hicks would consider the abandonment of the British Empire Exhibition, with a view of limiting the probable losses of the guarantors.
Sir William Joynson Hicks replied in the negative. He saw no reason, he said, to anticpate an ultimate loss, while the abandonment would inevitably involve immediate heavy, losses.
