TE KUITI, 27th February. At. a meeting of the Te Kuiti Borough Council, Councillor Morion referred to the Licensing Commission's report presented to fest parliament, wl»c« recommended that in the event of the defeat of Prohibition some revision ot the licensing law would have to be granted to the King Country. During tho last five years 238,975 gallons of beer and spirits had been imported into the King Country, at an estimated cost of £224,627. He considered that in the event of local option being carried in the King Country it would be a good opportunity for the Borough Council to try the experiment of municipal control of licenses. He moved: "That the Te Kuiti Borough Council urges the Government to give early effect to the recommendation of the Licensing Commission with reference to local option for the King- Country, and in the event of restoration boing carried, to grant a license to the Te Kuiti Borough Council." , The motion was seconded and «a*" ried unanimously.
