Mellon, has sent a letter to Congress backing Air. Hugies's attitude, and declaring that it would be incompatible with public interest to divulge the of liquor imported by the Embassies. [Mr. C. E. Hughes, Secretary of State, sent a letter to Mr' A. W. Mellon, Secretary to the Treasury, stating that it would be inadvisable to publish the facts concerning' the amount of liquor imported by the various Embassies and Legations at Washington, in accordance with the Congressional request, on the ground that it would be a violation of diplomatic immunity.]
