(BT TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) TAURANGA, This Day. Speculation is rife as to the probable candidates for the Tauranga by-election. The name of My. C. E. MacMillan, of Tauranga, is freely mentioned as the Reform candidate, but the Government, so far, as made no pronouncement. The opinion is also freely expressed that this is an opportunity for Sir Joseph Ward to re-enter politics, and that endeavours will be made to induce him to i stand.
