BIG FIRE IN ADELAIDE

ADELAIDE, 21st February. Fire destroyed Duncan and Eraser's motor-car showrooms, premises occupied by the Duncan Motors, Ltd., and two floors of the Farmers' Co-operative Union building. In all 190 motor-cars were destroyed. The damage is estimated at £250.000. A terrific explosion followed the outbreak. Several adjoining buildings caught fire, but were extinguished. Later. Of a stock of 140 Fords and £0 Sludebakers only two Fords were saved in Duncan's tire. The whole hardware stock and considerable agricultural machinery of the Farmers' Co-operative Union were reduced to scrap iron. Insurance policies are estimated at £170,000.
