The senior cricket competition was continued on Saturday. United secured a three-point win from Carterton. In, their second innings, Cart-erton were dismissed for IS. F." Hoar took eight wickets for 9 runs, including the "hat trick," and A. Robson two for 1. Masterton defeated Pirates by an innings and 80 rims. The Masterton-Opaki Rifle Club held its final field day and deciding stage of the club championship on Saturday. The winner of the championship was lyputy.Proaident H. H. Donald, with Rifitman H. H. Mawley three points behind, second. The junior competition was won by Rifleman H. Smith, with Rifleman D. M'Kenzie second.
The late entries received on Saturday night for the Masterton Show now make, the grand total 2225, a record for the past ]5 years.
The gate and grandstand takings at the M.A.A.C. sports on Saturday totalled £62 19s Sd.
The Tararna Power Board has made arrangements to borrow £00,000 from the A.M.P. Society at 5j per cent, for 33 years.
Mr. J. lorns has been elected patron of the Masterton*Racins Club.
