(II IBUSORAPB.— tfItSS ASSOCIATION.)

WANGANUI, 26th January.

"I am doing the only thing that is left for mo. I have never known what it is to be happy. lam tired of life. I have always had a hope that you will manage all right, and that the rest of your life ■ will be happy. My cross . has been too heavy to bear ? and I am going to my well-earned rest. Good-bye. Do not fret. Be good to the children. Comfort them in their sorrow, for I am going to my long rest." The above is the text of a note writtenby Mrs. R. Matson, of Heads road, who is reported missing from her home. Mrs. Matson suffered from ill-health, and was about to undergo an operation. On Wednesday night she went to bed as usual, but next morning she was missing, and her husband found the pitiful note that indicated the worst. Search was immediately made with police assistance. .311 they found was the print of a bare foot in the mud near the Imlay Wharf. To-day the police made an extended search, but the rivar was in flood, and their efforts were without result.
