OUTPUT AND PRICES.
NEW PLYMOUTH, 15th Jan.
From' Ist July to 12th January, 152,946 boxes of butter and 61,666 crates of cheese were handled at the Moturoa Freezing Works, an increase of 37,591 and a • decrease of 2078 respectively compared with the corresponding period of the previous year.
The Bank of New Zealand, Produce Department, has received the following advice from its London office under date 12th January:—"Butter, steady, 192s per cwt; cheese, steady, 132s to 1345."
The Bank of New South Wales is advised by its London office, under date 12th 'January, as follows:—"Butter: Steady, £9 12s. Cheese: Steady, £6 12s', £6 145."
Tho High Commissioner, cabling London, 13th January, reports: "Butter market easier, with only a fair demand. Cheese market steady. Prices, 12th January: N.Z. butter, salted, 190s to 1945, up to 1965. Unsalted, 194s to 198s. Australian, salted, finest, 186s to 190s; other qualities, 170s to 184s; unsalted, finest, 190s to 1945; other qualities, 182s to 188s. Cheese—N.Z., coloured 130s to 140s, white 130s/to 1345; Australian, coloured 126s to 130s, white 128s to 1325; Canadian^ coloured 130s to 136 a, white 130s to 1365; English, finest farmers' 138s to 145 a.
