PRICE OF PROHIBITION

RECENT WET STATES THE WORST.

WASHINGTON, 9th January. The Department of Justice announced that violators of Prohibition laws brought before Federal Courts since July, 1921, have been fined 5,000,000 dollars, and sentenced to a total of 2000 years' gaol.

An interesting fact pointed out is that the Federal docket in connection with those States which were wet before National Prohibition was carried is crowded with Prohibition violation cases, while States which had Local Prohibition before National Prohibition have the fewest number bf pending cases.
