CONVENIENCES ARRANGED TEMPORARILY.
The Mayor (Mr. R, A? Wright) stated this morning that the-difficulty in connection with sanitary conveniences at the children's playground had been overcome through -\tho good offices of Councillor T.'Forsyth, chairman of the Education Board, and the Newtown - School Committee. It had been arranged that trie children visiting the ground should use the lavatories at the Newtown school during theholidays. , This arrangement ■would obviate the threatened closing of the play. area. The Mayor stated. that he would probably make an appeal to the citizens for financial assistance towards erecting conveniences .on the play area. The work was of extreme importance, and he thought the necessary money couW.be easily raised by subscription.
