CONFERENCE OF COUNTRIES^ (TJMTED PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPJRIGHI.) {AUSTRALIAN-lIBW ZBALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, 20th December. The conference of the nations competing for the Davis Cup has opened. Twelve countries are represented. The proceedings are private, but an official statement will be issued later. The conference adopted.the zoning system, under which the preliminaries will be played in American and European sections, the competitors declaring.in which zone they desire to enter. It was also agreed that, in. the event of a dispute between any two Davis Cup nations, it be referred to arbitration by an independent third nation.
