FAVOUR TO CANADA

REMOVING CATTLE EMBARGO

OTHER DOMINIONS EXCLUDED,

<JNITSD PRESS 4SSOCIATION.—COriaISHI.)

(AUSTRALIAN - NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, 13th December.

Sir Joseph Cook, High Commissioner for Australia, conferred with the Duke of Devonshire with regard to the omission of the clause in the Cattle Embargo 'Bill permitting cattle importations from other Dominions, thus conferring a privilege on Canada not conceded to other parts of the Empire. Sir Joseph Cook holds that such differentiation is wrong' in principle. The Duke of Devonshire hopes to see what can be done to reinsert the clause when the Bill reaches the House of Lords.
