THE LYTTELTON SERVICE. ', After an absence of five weeks the Unioi Company's steamer Wahine arrived at Wellington this morning to enter the WellingtonLyttelton ferry service. The vessel left Lyttelton at 9 a'clock last evening, and arrived in port at 8 o'clock this morning, thus making the trip in eleven hours, which is considered very good time in view of the fact that she has a new/crew. In conjunction with the Maori, the( Wahihe will maintain the Lyttelton service, sailing-from Wellington on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and making the return trip from Lyttelton on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. - TAHITI SAIIS FOE WELLINGTON; The Union Company's E.M.3. Tahiti ..cleared Sydney Heads at 1 p.m. yesterday for Wellington, Earotonga, Papeete, and San Francisco. The vessel, which has 400 passengers /on board, is due at Wellington on Monday, and is to sail at 3 p.m. on Tuesday for' San Francisco. , ..■',■.
POET CAROLINE FROM HOME. The C. and D. liner Port Caroline/which is to replace the Port Campbell, is to leave London on the 24th January for Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Timaru. ■ The Port Darwin is to leave Auckland tomorrow for Wellington to complete discharge of overseas cargo. She is'due here on Monday, and will later proceed to Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete discharge.' '
