■ i . SYDNEY, This Day.' Replying further to Mr, A. B. Piddington's oharges Mr. 'Hqghes reiterates that Mr. Pfddington resigned his Judgeship because he was afraid to face the hostility of.the Bar. "On many occasjons since," eayß Mr. Hughes, "Mr. Piddington has asked me to appoint him to the High Court." Mr. Piddington issued a statement explaining thjit he resigned his, Judgeship in the High Court because he discovered^ that Mr. Hughes ascertained,- through an intermediary, his viewp on, the interpretation of Commonweartß law before the Judgeship was offered to him.
