LONDON, 12th December.
Sir W. Jpynson-Hicks, Parliamentary Secretary for Overseas Trade, conferred with representatives of the executive council of the Management Committee on -the general management of: the Empire Exhibition. The High Commissioners arranged the procedure of the inquiry, which will be held immediately. The order of reference is, firstly, as to what steps are being taken to provide for full consultation with representatives of thY Dominions and the colonies in order to secure the use of Imperial produce; secondly, as to granting concessions for Entertainments and amusements; thirdly, as to the criticisms of certain members of the Pnblicity Committee regarding the limited opportunities afforded the committee" to assist in the publicity work of the exhibition. The terms direct Sir W. Joynson- j Hioks to report to the Colonial Office, the Indian Office, the Board of Trad«, and the Executive Council, and recommend whether further steps can usa- ( fully be taken to strengthen the contra of the council over the general conduct of the administration of the exhibition^ Mr. Dalton, the former Trade Commissioner in New Zealand, has been appointed secretary to the inquiry,' and Mr. Rawlinson, member of £he House of Commons, legal adviser. < |»
