John Dawson's letter in to-night's "Evening Post,' 1 I am not concerned with what the Moderate League said, or with' what the Licensed Trade said, but with what the Eev. John Dawson said. He doesn't seeto to understand that, and writes a loßg rigmarole mainly pn the psy> chological aspect of the voting, and other matters quite beside the point. He says that "all the State Control voters have done is to aid and abet Continuance in all its dreadful work, a thing they did not want to do, or why. did they not ' vote straight out for it?" Yet he adds these to the Prohibition total! Truly a wonderful conception of the, aims and_ intentions of 34,000 pdd people! 1 might juit as well, retort, leaving the "dreadful work" out of the question,, that the State Control voters d,id not favour Prohibition, or why did they not vote straight out for it? The thjng is absurd. "The fact is, that Prohibition has been badly, beaten., and nobody, realises that fact Ijettbr than the Rev. Jp'hn Dawson. He would be well ad? vised to join hands with the Rev. Canon Feilden Taylor and concentrate his future efforts on. temperance. P»phib, itjon is as dead »s the dodp-—4 »m, $&■» :A.E.M.:' 13th December,
