HUTT RIVER BOARD

A meeting of the Hutt Eiver Board was held last evening. Present: Messrs. W. T. Strand, J. Mitchell, S. Clendbn, J. Mably, F. Flitter. The secretary reported that the work done during the month include^ fencing repairs at Adams's paddock and at Taita, clearing the pine plantation, dp-, ing up the plantation near" the Technical School, cutting gorse at Taita, and a good length of the stop-bank. T{ie cooperative work at the groyne was proceeding very well ; At the end of November, 45 bays were completed. This >vas equal to six bays per week. The engineer was well satisfied with the work done. The shingle business during the hionth was very moderate. Since then, there had been a great improvement. The shingle account was as follows:— November, £54 2s 4d profit; royalties received, £187 6s 7d. I It was decided to pay all men who had been in' the board's service for three months, full time for the Christmas holiday.
