"THE GREAT LOVER."
A highly successful presentation of the play "Johnny Get Your Gun" took place at the Opera Houee last night by the Louis Bennison Company. This earning a play of ah entirely different character, "The Great' Lover," will be produced. It is the work of Leo Ditrichstein and Frederic and Fanny Hatton, and, according to the . dramatic critics of England and America, it is the best play written for years. The part, of Jean Paurel, played by Mr. Bennison, is considered one of the, most \difficult ever written, and tho only other actors who have attempted it are Ditrichstein and Muscovitch, the 'Yiddish actor. The loves and ambitions, the squabbles and jealousies of grand opera, artists are faithfully depicted and: the \ volatile Paurel with his innumerable love affairs, colossal conceit, and outbursts of passion afford Mr. Bennison «very opportunity of displaying his wonderful ability. The cast is a lengthy one, and everymember of tfie company vrae specially selected to play the various characters. The scenery and mounting is lavish and i the costuming is most picturesque. On Wednesday will commence the last three nights , of the season, when theatregoers will hare an opportunity of witnessing, the first production in Australasia of "The Lady Of My Dreams," a romantic drama written round the life of Benvenuto Cellini.
