SOCCER CONTROL

N.Z.F.A. -MEETING.

A meeting of the New Zealand Football Association was held last evening, Mr. A. Menzies presiding. There were also present Messrs. B. Salmon, R. Walls, H. Graves, S. Jardine, H. Mayer, F Campbell, W. Ferkins, H. Yeoman, W. G. Bryce. A scheme by which the fixed revenue of the N.Z.F.A. would be increased from £35 to £120 was outlined in a report made by the Finance Committee. Th« report contained suggestions that (1) /subscriptions from affiliated associations be based on a charge of 10s per first or second division teams, and 5s for all other grades; (2) that the entrance fee for the Chatham Cup should be 20s; regarding the rules for the Chatham Cup it was recommended to the Kules Revision Committee that the expenses of players be a .first charge on the net proceeds after the expenses of mnning the match; all profits after expenses hays been paid to go to the N.Z.F.A.; •the same thing to apply to the Brown Shield and Pa-wson Cup rules, except that the home association should have 20 per cent, of the profits for controlling the match; (3) for the purposes of Brown Shield contests New Zealand be divided into four districts, Aucklandi, Wellington, Canterbury, and Otago. Mr. Campbell suggested that the 5s charge should include no grade lower than fifth grade. ' The suggestion was adopted, and it waj decided to refer the question to the Rules Revision Committee. Mr. A. Menzies, who is leaving ish6rt-: ly for Auckland, and Mr. M. Olliver, who is faking up duties at "New Plymouth, were fa'rewelled by the executive. Sir. Salmon and other members of the committee spolce of the work Mr. Menzies'and Mr. Olliver had done to lift the game here. What would be the local committee's loss, would be the Auckland Association's gain.
