"RIP VAN WINKLE."

There is quite a ,bit of wonderful "animal stuff" in "Rip Van Winkle/ the newest Selznick release, which comes to the Queen's Theatre next Friday. There is a very intelligent bear, and a very remarkable goat, and a ball which plays a very prominent part in, the production. According to Director Lascelle it was an impossibility to procure a mild-tempered bull—and so they had to go to the other extreme! They got a ball that knew how to go, but had never learned how to stop ! And so before the scene was taken Mr. Lascalle impressed upon Thomas Jefferson, who plays the title role, that all he had to depend upon to save himself was his fleetness of foot—and that if his fleetness of foot was not adequate the picture would come to a tragic and abrupt ending. The necessary preparations ware made and the snorting monster was released. And bow Thomas Jefferson did rnn! Off he went, throwing away as he ran anything which might serve to impede his progress; The bull, after a futile chase,. seemed to realise that he had met his master and gave Mr. Jefferson Tip as a bad job.
