INTER-HIGH SCHOOLS' MATCH

OAMARU, 19th November.

In the inter-high schools' match Otago v. Waitaki, played here on a perfect wicket, and with a fast outfield, on the High School ground, on Friday and Saturday, Waitaki secured two decisive wins against the visitors. In the senior match, Otago made 210 (Duncan 69, Bordsley 57, Barrow 36). Macallan, who took five wickets for 73 runs, and Abbott, who took three wickets for 75, bowled best for Waitaki. Otago's second innings yielded 79 (Wilson 22, not out). Abbott took four wickets for 26, and Macallan five for 50. Waitaki, in the first innings, made 354 (Nixon 68, Elmslie 57, Levin 45); Nine of the batsmen reached double figures. Macdonald, who took three wickets for 49 runs, was the most successful bowler for Otago. Waitaki won by an innings and 65 runs.

In the junior match Otago made 97 in the first innings and 220 in the second (Giles 63). Waitaki made 322. E. H. Smith, scored 129, his score including 18 fours and two sixes. Waitaki. won by ten wickets.
