AKALIS AND SIKH SHRINES.

The Punjab Council has passed a Bill for the i administration of Sikh, shrines. During the debate it was announced that a prominent Indian had taken a lease of the rights of a shrine at Gurukabagh, and will place no obstacle in the way of the Akalis using the shrine. It is expected that this will result in the settling, of the Akali trouble and the arrests, of which already 5500 have been made, will cease. The police are being withdrawn.
