DE VALERA ISSUES AN APPEAL.

The trial of Erskine Childers on a charge of being in illegal possession of arms has ended, and the finding will be promulgated later. Do Valera has issued an appeal, in which ho states: "If Childers is shot, we will be condemned to slavery, and will be the slaves of slaves." - . •
Accused claimed belligerent status as a Republican prisoner of war, but the Court overruled his objection. His counsel claimed that under the International Red Cross civil prisoners of war were entitled to treatment as prisoners of wai:, and he then withdrew from the case.' •
