SALES OF CHEESE
Several South Island factories have sold their November output and some also llieir output for December. ■ The prices have ranged from B£d to Bjd f.0.b., Bluff, and in some cases buyers have promised the factories the benefit of any powering in freights below current rates. The " Southland News " reports that the principal operators have been Messrs. A. S. Paterson and Co., representing J. and J. Ixmsdale; Weddel and Co.; Andrew Clement and Sons, Ltd.; Wright, Stephenson, and Co.; Rowson, Hodson, and Co.; and the National Mortgage Co. representing Mills and Co. All factories this season have shown a very marked reluctance to^ consign, as they had a very bitter experience during the past two years, .and in consequence many London houses have been forced to buy to keep their New Zealand connection.
