TOKIO, 14th October.

Chaag-tso-lin reports the purchase of the steamer Simbirsk, an ex-Russian vessel lying at Kobe, which will be converted into a fast cruiser. The Simbirsk was one of the Russian volunteer fleet which Lenin attempted to seize, and which took refuge in Japanese waters. Eed agents attempted to seize the vessel a year ago at Nagasaki, the attempt resulting in a bloody deck fight.
