WEEK IN PARLIAMENT
PUBLIC WORKS-STATEMENT.
The coming week in Parliament should be a busy one. The Public Works Statement is ready, for presentation, and may be placed before members on Tuesday evening. There are on- the ■ Order Paper some important Bills, including the Crimes Amendment, doing away with the "reasonable cause to believe" defenoe in offences against girls, and ■ the Legislative Amendment Bill, giving Civil servants the right, in given circumstances, to contest seats at the General Election. To these will be added early in the week the Finance' Bill.
