RISE IN RUBBER

LONDON, 13th October. Owing to the Colonial Office approving a scheme to rsstrict the output of rubber, in order to raise the price, Ceylon, Malay, and the Straits- Settlements rubber prices rose about l£d, standard crepe spot selling at 9|d to 10Jd.
[A cable message yesterday announced that the Colonial Office, which was investigating the depression in the rubbergrowing industry, had issued a report, which Mr. Winstpn Churchill had approved, recommending a restricted output in Ceylon, Malay, and the Straits Settlements on a sliding scale on a calculated three-monthly period, until the price-of rubber averaged Is 3d a pound. ]
