"THE THIRD DEGREE." THE "LYTTELTON TIMES": " Miss Biamloy's Company - was well qualified to interpret tho drama as it should be interpreted. M.'es Bramisy, aa young Jeffrie's wife, presented a pathetically bravo figuro in pluying the lone hand which, is to froo her husband from the accusation of the murder. She has been seen' in several roles requiring deep emotional intensity, and her gifts in this direction arc* highly appreciated by Christchurch audiences; but she has not been seen in a much happier role than that o£ tho 'Third Degree.' Her assumption of the slight slangy manner which emphasises tho gulf hor birth and her .social standing as Howard Jeffrie's 1 wifo made a. very human possibility of the part, and tho scene in which she per-' suades her father-in-law's lawyer to take up the case was quito an artistic triumph. The play went with unusual dramatio vigour, and Miss Bramley deserved tho vory enthusiastic recognition that her efforts called forth." i Box Plans open at The Bristol, Thursday next.
