CHARGES OF BREAKING AND
ENTERING.
Surprised by a constable on beat, two young men were captured last evening on the premises of Triester and Co.'s hat factory, Vivian street, and' taken to the Mount Cook Police Station. The police officer patrolling this quarter of the city noticed that the door of the warehouse had been- forced, and the two intruders were caught red-handed and- had no time to offer any resistance. At the Magistrate's Court this morning, before Mr. E. Page, . S.M., Alfred Edward Power and George Eobert Munsey, both aged twenty-one, were charged with breajdng and entering the warehouse of Triester and Co., ar> stealing goods to the value of 13s 7|d, and also with the theft of goods valued at £25 19s belonging to Joseph Isaac Goldsmith, On the application of the police, they were remanded for a week, as further charges are pending.
