COLDER WEATHER PROBABLE
Tho westerly storm area has been in evidence, and westerly winds, strong to gale, have prevailed, with unsettled squally weather. Rain has fallen in most parts of the Dominion, and has been Iteavy in districts with a westerly aspect. Rivers in Westland were reported in flood this morning. The local rainfall for the twenty-four hours preceding 9 a.m. to-day was .65in. Arthur's Pass reported 2.23 in, and Foxton Ll6in. Further cloudy and unsettled weather may be expected, with rain generally and snow on the higher levels in the South. Colder conditions are likely to follow.
