SKATING CARNIVAL.

The much-looked fov Skating Carnival will be held to-night and to-morrow night at the Colosseum Rink. Included in to-night',s programme is what is claimed to be the greatest event ever 'performed on roller skates. Itl takes place in the shape, of a "Slide for Life," where the performer travels over 33ft in a second. Having completed this, an. obstacle in the nature of a switchback has to be encountered. The evening's amusement will end with a confetti battle, in which both participants and onlookers take part. Competitors are notified that they will be admitted by tha side door (Knigge avenue) from 7 p.m., and the general public will be admitted by the main doors at 7.15 p.m. "Intending patrons 'are urged to avail themselves of the box plan now open at the Rink ticket office. The public are also notified that the learners' session will not be held to-night or to-morrow night.
