Tlie Amalgamated Society of Engineers, by 3516 Vot'cs to 635, decided in favour qf extreme measures to preserve fee forty-four-hour week. It is feared a big strike throughout the Commonwealth will develop if the employers sdcure the extension to forty-eight hours.
