The Eirearm is hard at work on the Constitution Bill, which will reach the committee stage on Monday. The Cabinet has announced- certain clauses by which the Government will stand or fall. These include the preservation of the Treaty position, and the recognition of the Crown. The bulk of the nation is breathing easier again, seeing in the functioning of the Dail a sign of happier and more stable conditions.
Rebel activity is diminishing except in Kerry, which is practically cut off from communication and where hundreds of unemployed are starving. 1 A captured rebel manifesto urges the immediate establishment of a Provisional Republican Government.
