In consequence of the seamen's strike, the Government has temporarily suspended the Act reserving the French monopoly of ■ navigation between France, Corsica, and Algeria. Three Russian vessels have been selected to ensure a regular service between France, North Africa, and Corsica. Several French companies have promised to restore the eight-hour day, and consequently the liners have resumed normal services.
