PaIWS, 24th September. "Battling" Siki beat Carp_entier. The ring referee awarded Siki the fight on a foul in the sixth round. The judges reversed the verdict, but finally decided in favour of Siki.

(Received' 25th September, 1.45 p.m.) PAR-IS, 2«h -September. Siki scaled 12st 6lbs, and Carpentder was the same . weight. Carpentier treated Siki contemptuously in the first round, which ended evenly. In the second round Siki overcame his nervousness, and showed to better advantage than the Frenchman, who then realised that he was fighting for his title. The third was fought at hammer and tongs, and honours were ■ again slightly in Siki's favour. Siki had all the best of the fourth round, CaTpentier being punched all round the ring. He was again badly punished in the fifth round, Siki carrying all before him./ Carpentier, whose eye was closed, started butting his head, and the referee cautioned him. In the sixth round Siki set a fierce pace, and in the middle of the round Carpentier fell. Everyone thought Siici had knocked him out, but the referee called "foul," declaring' that Siki had tripped Caxpentier. The judges entered the ling, and a doctor stated that Carpentier's ankle was sprainad. Carpentier stated that he was nnable to rise, and he was carried from , the ring bleeding profusely and only semi-conscious. The judges awarded Siki the decision, setting aside • the referee's disqualification.
